In 1990 I made a decision to change my life. I decided to go back to school and
give myself a college education. This was a turning point for me, for I never thought I
could do college work; however, something was guiding me, a force from within.
It was the best gift I ever gave myself. The experience was not only educational,
but challenging, spiritual, entertaining, awesome, and awakening. It changed my perception
about life and helped me discover the real me within. For this, I am grateful!
I graduated from Eckerd College, St. Petersburg, Florida in 1995 with high honors.
My major was Organizational Studies with a minor in Human Development. I thank my hubby,
my kids, and my mentor for encouraging me to follow my dream, and for their support when
the work seemed overwhelming.
Therefore, I encourage anyone considering college, or if you are in college and
feeling discouraged, to not give up but persist and follow your dreams. It can have life
changing consequences. It did for me.
